Our April 11th Swamp Mystery for Kids was a rollicking success!

The event opened with a fun, interactive Education Table, where kids learned about native plants and wildlife, and parents learned about the Yesler Swamp.

Soon, it was off into the swamp, to meet a cast of lively and engaging characters:

May 8 Work Day At Yesler Swamp!

Join your friends and neighbors at the Yesler Swamp 10:00 am to noon on Saturday, May 8. We’ll be laying chips for the new temporary nature trail and pulling out ivy and blackberries.  Meet at the parking lot on the east side of the Center for Urban Horticulture. Light refreshments will be served.  Tools will be provided.

Steering Committee Meeting

The next steering committee meeting will be at the Center for Urban Horticulture on Tuesday, April 27 at 11:00.  We will be discussing future events, including a proposed Hike from the Headwaters of Yesler Creek. Interested members of the community are invited to attend!

Yesler Swamp Trail preparation

On Saturday April 10th from 10AM until noon we will be spreading chips over the temporary Yesler Swamp trail in preparation for this Sunday’s Kids Swamp Mystery Tour. If you want to help, please meet us at the eastern edge of the Urban Horticultural Center parking which is the trail entrance.
